[Museless -_-]
The ute pulled up, the creaking and grinding of the tires sounded the area, horses squealed in excitement while others moved uneasily to the back of their stalls. A slight toot made Amy drop her rake and jog swiftly towards the entrance of the Academy. Her heat leaping with excitement. As she out of the welcoming barn and into the bright sun, she allowed a smile to crease her lips. Launching herself over the gate she strained to get a clear veiw of the front gate, Barn A was the furthest away from the entrance, or so it seemed. Puffing her way to the front gate, her eyes caught sight of a large dog, standing beside what appeared to be a pony. The pony was only tiny and a foal too, he was harnessed to the rack of the ute and didn't look like the happiest little colt. Taking a moment to make sense of the odd sight, she made her way towards the man getting out of the yellow ute.
A large grin still plastered to her lips, she held her hand out to the man. He took a moment of thinking before shaking her hand for a split moment. A wide brimmed hat sat apun his grey hair, large silver side-burns ran down his cheeks, " 'eres the little one. 'e 'asen't had a drink for a day or two, weak at the moment...well." he straightened himself out and climbed into the back of the ute, the colt grunted and nussled into the dog, who shifted side-ways uneasily. The foals eyes where bright and happy, he looked to be a real character, but he was rather thin , otherwise he seemed to be alright, a bright bay coat with a glowing white muzzle.
The man unclipped the pony in a hurry, then wrapped his arms around the small beast and heaved him upright, holding him above the surface of the truck. The man walked forwards and lowered him over the edge. Amy's eyes widened as the man prepared to drop the foal. Quickly Amy wrapped her arm around the colt as the man had done and supported his stomache with the other. The sudden weight made her stagger backwards, but she held the fluffy baby tightly in her arms. The colt whined, his coat was cold on her bare arms.
The man jumped back into the cab of the truck, his expression stayed stone still, just as it had been the whole time. Then with a slight nodd he skidded his way back up the drive. Slightly bewildered, Amy lowered the bay shetland to the ground, he stood strongly for a moment, before his back legs buckled slightly. Amy reached out to him, but a smile soon carved to her mouth as she saw the now sitting pony. His warm eyes greeting her, but he was hungry. She luaghed under her breath "Come on then boy." she walked to him and scooped him up yet again.
As the foal nozed at the straw bedding for a while, Amy smiled and sat down with him. The inquisitive colt looked to her and slowly waded through the bed of straw, his soft noze touched her knee and she right away felt a bond forming. She had put the young shetland who was apparently only 5 days old, into Barn C. Simply because it was closer to the main buildings and had easy access. Her mind danced as his hoof was planted between hr legs and he slowly lipped at her hair. Amy stroked the colt fondly, as she reached over his muzzle, the colts attention seemed to stray to her finers, he licked them intently bit soon lost intrest. "Oh of coarse! Your bottle!" standing up she closed the stall door and rushed to the tack room, where the bottle of 'Replacement' milk sat in its warmer.
The bay colt eagerly began to suckle the milk, not even taking the time to get used to the different smell and taste. "Good boy." Amy cooed softly to him, happiness flodding her body. But her mind was else-where, who would accompany the young foal during the times Amy couldent? There where no other shetlands for the colt to bond with...it suddenly hit her. She still felt insecure with the idea, but what played on her mind...a dog. The colt grunted and nussled into the dog. her memory had braught the idea. She would speak to Pina. But now the colt needed her.
She twisted the colts short and springy main in her fingers, wondering on what to call him. "Crash...no." her eyes ran over his hips, the bone stood out slightly. "I can see your Bones..." she shook her head. But her thinker suddenly lit up "Bones. I'll call you Bones!" excitement flooded her body yet again. Bones still suckling intently.
